First Edition Backroad Mapbooks

(6 products)

The First Edition Backroad Mapbooks mark the beginning of Backroad Maps. In the early 1990s, brothers Wes and Russ Mussio decided to chart the backroads that were not available on existing maps. These initial books were hand-drawn, self-published, and printed on a small press in a garage in British Columbia. The maps are straightforward and practical, highlighting logging roads, lakes, and access points, along with brief notes on fishing, hiking, and camping. These books were designed for use rather than collection, which is why surviving first editions are considered rare today.
