Situated on the Red Deer River and surrounded by various parks and wilderness areas, the city of Red Deer offers a wide variety of outdoor activities in proximity to amenities such as restaurants, hotels, and gas stations. Fish for pike, walleye, goldeye, burbot, and brown trout in the Red Deer River. The Riverbend Recreation Area and Kiwanis Park are popular fishing locations near town, while several riverside trails offer access to different parts of the river. For those looking to get into the backcountry, the Chambers Creek OHV Riding Area can be found on either side of Highway 11 near the town of Horburg.
