The new version includes several updates and enhancements including a new map style, thousands of new Backroad Attractions and Points of Interest, a new road classification system, and six exciting new map layers.
Perfect for trip planning on the go, the BRMB Maps App Adventure Layers can be toggled on and off based on the outdoor activities you are interested in. Whether you are looking for new local adventure opportunities or heading out on a multi-day road trip, we make trip planning easy with tools such as custom Waypoints and Tracks which can be toggled on and off with the simple click of a button.
Hit the Trails
Stretching over 28,000 kilometres across Canada, the Trans Canada Trail is one of the most scenic and unique trail networks in the world, spanning from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and then the Arctic Ocean. Our brand new TCT Trail Layer features the entire length of this recreational trail, highlighting separate trail sections including elevation gain, kilometres, trailheads, and trail difficulty.
For those that prefer pedaling, our new Mountain Biking Layer features thousands of kilometres of mountain bike For those that prefer pedaling, our new Mountain Biking Layer features thousands of kilometres of mountain bike and multi-use trail systems across Canada, including trailheads, trail length, elevation gain, difficulty level, and unique trail features. Multi-use trails and mountain bike-only trails are clearly defined, and the trail descriptions include any amenities found on the trail, along with tips, tricks, and access information.
The new TCT Trail and Mountain Biking Layers compliment our other trail layers including Multi-Use Trails, Paddling Routes, ATV Trails, and Snowmobiling Routes.
These trails are constantly being reviewed, refined, and updated, meaning App users have access to the most up-to-date trail information available.
Stay in Bounds
It is easy to play by the rules with our new Hunting Boundaries and Fishing Boundaries Layers. These new layers feature clearly defined Wildlife Management Units, Wildlife Management Zones, and Game Hunting Areas, as well as easy to read Fishing Lakes, Rivers, and Streams with clearly defined Fishing Regions and Zones. The Fishing Layer has also been improved to include new marina and boat launch Points of Interest and almost 1,000 new fishing hot spots!
The Hunting Boundaries Layer includes the main hunting regions and zones across Canada, while the new Other Hunting Areas Layer includes Limited Entry Hunting in British Columbia, and other alternate Hunting Boundaries such as Deer Management Zones in Nova Scotia or Caribou Management Areas in Newfoundland. While this information was previously combined, it has been separated in Version 2 of the BRMB Maps App to allow easier map customization with reduced clutter.
In addition to defined First Nations areas in the basemap, we also highlight Crown Land and Private Land in their own separate layers, to aid in trip planning and making your way to your chosen hunting or fishing spot. This is all in addition to the Fishing Layer which features stocked fishing lakes, fish species, regulations, dock, and boat launch information, and the Hunting Layer which provides hunting regulations, species, and much more. As an added bonus, all of this information, along with satellite imagery can be stored in Offline maps.
Spend the Night
Separate from our Parks Layer, the brand-new Camping Layer features over 15,000 camping locations across Canada, including 11,000 backcountry campsites, park campgrounds and even private RV resorts.
Public, private, and backcountry campgrounds are clearly highlighted and easy to find with the new BRMB Maps App Camping Layer. There is also a Recsite Layer that can be used to find less crowded and more rustic camping alternatives that are primarily found at BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan Rec Sites and Rec Areas.
Whether you are looking for a family-friendly campground with luxury amenities or a rustic spot to camp along a scenic multi-day trail, our new Camping Layer makes it easy to find your next camping site and even read campground reviews from other App users.
If you do not have your camping gear or prefer to sleep in a comfy and warm bed, simply toggle on the Service Providers Layer to find hotels, lodges and resorts near you.
