Enjoy the Journey

Towering granite and quartzite cliffs give way to colourful forests, deep river valleys, and sparkling water in Killarney Provincial Park. Many of the lakes are easily accessible by a network of backroads, while paddlers get the unique chance to escape into the remote and inaccessible areas of the park, many kilometres away from any road. Camp under the stars, hike along one of several backcountry hiking trails that lead to stunning viewpoints, or paddle to one of the many wildlife viewing hotspots in the park.

O.S.A. Lake is a favourite among paddlers. Pink granite cliffs tower over crystal-clear water, and dense forest provides protection against the elements. Some of the best backcountry campsites in the park are located on the many small islands scattered throughout the lake, and it is possible to paddle from George Lake to O.S.A. Lake (22 km/13 mi total), or continue on to Topaz Lake and McGregor Bay for a lengthy 8-10 day paddle.

These 61 x 94 cm (24 x 37 in) maps are displayed at 1:75,000 scale and printed on waterproof and tear-resistant material with hundreds of land and water geographic features. The perfect size to fit in your pocket, dry bag, or backpack, the Killarney Provincial Park Adventure Map is a great companion to any Killarney Provincial Park paddling adventure.

If you are lucky, you will even catch a glimpse of the northern lights.

The canoe routes in Killarney Provincial Park each feature several wilderness campsites along the way. All campsites are conveniently labelled with a distinctive symbol, meaning paddlers can check out different sites along the way, and settle at the one with the best views.
