Mapbook Update Contest
Backroad Mapbooks and Fishing Mapbooks are always looking for updates and ways to improve the mapbooks. Whether it is information on road conditions, a fishing hole or a GPS track of a remote trail, we like to reward our readers with free product. The prizes listed below are awarded for people who provide multiple updates at any given time. Individual update contributions will be automatically entered into a draw for a free mapbook or Backroad Mapbook prize package. Those who go out of their way to provide substantial updates will also be acknowledged in the actual book.
Provincial Mapbook Update Prizes:
This prize package will award readers who provide updates to our mapbooks in any given province. To qualify the reader must submit at least 20 unique and valuable updates and/or GPS tracks or waypoints from their travels around that province. The reward will be a signed set of Backroad Mapbooks for that province.
Regional Mapbook Update Prizes:
For those people who only travel their local area, we would also like to reward them with a signed version of the mapbook of their choice. To qualify the reader must submit at least 10 unique and valuable updates and/or GPS tracks or waypoints from their travels around the region.
Free Mapbook or Backroad Mapbook Prize Package:
Notice an error or missing entry in our mapbook. Send a note along and you will be automatically entered into a draw for a free mapbook or Backroad Mapbook prize package.

GPS Tracks & Waypoints Contest
We will reward GPS users who provide us with GPS tracks of trails, riding areas or even waypoints of notable features with free updates and even a chance to win a free mapbook or Backroad Mapbooks Prize Package. Submit enough tracks or waypoints and you will get Free Updates for Life!
The prize value depends on the number of unique and useable GPS tracks or waypoints the reader submits. Each unique and valuable track you submit is worth $5 credit towards any Backroad GPS Maps update program, while waypoints are worth $1. All track and waypoint submissions, regardless of quantity, will automatically be entered into our quarterly Backroad Mapbook Prize Package draw.
Contest Details:
To win a prize package, all submissions must include the following:
- Title of the update or GPS track
- Where it was taken in addition to the
- Your name
- E-mail address

A minimum of 5 tracks or 10 waypoints must be submitted before update credits will be given. All credits will be added to your account/e-mail address to be used when you want to buy your update license. We have Yearly, 5 year and limited Lifetime Update programs available.
Prize winners will be selected semi-annually (March 31 and September 30). Winners will be contacted directly by e-mail and announced on Facebook.
** Mussio Ventures Ltd. reserves the right to qualify all track and waypoint submissions. All tracks and waypoints will be verified and must be outdoor recreation related or match one of our trail or Points of Interest Categories…sorry no restaurants or walks on city roads. A minimum of 5 tracks or 10 waypoints is required to qualify for any free updates.

Backroad Mapbooks is always looking for great outdoor photos. Whether it is a scenic image of an area or a great action shot, we like to reward our readers. Every picture used in the books will be credited and rewarded with any one of the following prizes:
First Place:
We will reward any picture with the most votes with a Grand Prize package that includes $150, a signed copy of a Backroad Mapbook of your choice. Each person can only win one prize package.
Second Place:
The winner of this category will be rewarded with $75, and a signed copy of the Backroad Mapbook of your choice. Each person can only win one prize package.
Third Place:
The winner of this category will be rewarded with $50, and a signed copy of the Backroad Mapbook of your choice. Each person can only win one prize package.
Honourable Mention:
We will reward this picture with a prize of a signed Backroad Mapbook of their choice.
Contest Details:
To win a prize package, all submissions must include the following either in the email or in a letter with the picture:
- the title of the picture
- where it was taken
- the person's name
- address (#, Street, city, province, postal code)
- phone number (including area code)
- e-mail address.
Images submitted by e-mail must be in jpeg format with a minimum resolution of 150 dpi and/or image size of 1.5 MB. E-mail images to photos@backroadmapbooks.com.
